Some Great Good Will Decor Items

After tomorrow, we can take down our Valentine's Day decor, and put something else.  I'm not sure what I will use.  I think Easter is April 1st, so I'll wait a little longer to put out the Easter decor.  Gotta get busy and decide what I'll do for the time til then.

 Tuesday's are Sr. Discount days at our GW, so I went and found such awesome things for a total of $20.00!!
All these items, a windsor chair, metal topiary vase, 2 books, an artificial plant, like new, very clean, a small aqua lantern, a small chicken picture, a pencil etching of Christ holding a lamb, and a tall picture of hydrangeas.








Here's where I'm using them.

 The turquoise chair went in my bedroom at the desk.

 Also in my room, on the faux mantle for the heater.

 I hung the hydrangea picture above the 'mantle' near the flowers.

 I found this the other day.  Are these called tussie mussie's?


 Of course I had to get this small picture!!

I placed the faux plant near the front door.

So another good day at the GW store.

I'm planning to start consigning items at the Hen's Nest Consignment shop which is about 25 miles from me.  If not, I am going to re-open my EBay store and purge "lots" of stuff.  If it's EBay, I'll let you all know.

I love finding tablecloths, runners, napkins, and other linens when I am out thrifting. Whether it be at consignment shops, GW, or yard sales, I will usually snap up a pretty linen if it doesn't have a lot of stains.  I will show you some of my favorites. I found several pieces embroideried with this design at a favorite consignment shop. This blue runner (reversible to stripes), found on consignment. This is one of the nicer quality tablecloths I have found, $4.00 at a thrift store. This cloth was around $10.00 on consignment. What's in the Hutch?

Yesterday I awoke in the mood to do some "deep" cleaning.  First on my list was to dust inside the china cabinet in the dining room.  Can you believe how much dust can get into a closed cabinet.  Really, how does that happen?  My cabinet has glass shelves and they were hazy with dust.  This is a rather tedious job because I not only have china inside, I have all kinds of little "pretties" stored there too.  It's one of the first things you see upon entry into our home, so I really should do this more often.  I want show you the before, sufficeth to say, it had been a while since I had tackled this chore.  Here are some photos showing the "after". Blogging Again From My Mountain Cottage, Shadymont

After a much needed rest, I'm back with a new blog name and a few slight changes, like the template, and the content will vary and not always be home decor, though that is my niche, and I will continue to have it frequently.  But I want to use my blog to also give those who may read it a little encouragement into the Goodness of God. Some of the fog from my depression is lifting now and I'm starting to feel better.  I've had a really hard time, personally, for the last seven months, and the divorce still isn't final.  I think it is nearing being final now though, and I hope I will continue to get clarity from this fog. I have a story to tell regarding other matters, but I still am not able to talk  about it quite yet.  But when I say I've been through the fire, or maybe the pits of hell, just believe me.  I now understand the meaning of Never say "Never"!  Things can happen to us when we are vulernable that we think would never  happen.  ...
