Sharing Shadymont, My Mountain Cottage

We checked out a Good Will store in a town about 40 miles from home the other day.  These are the only 2 items that I purchased for a total of $4 and change. I loved the look of this picture, and think it has a French vibe and the frame is so nice.  I gave $1.51 for it, so that was a steal. This item has a French look as well, with the fleur de lis design on the front. It was $2.92, I believe.  I went down to the basement into my Christmas stash of twigs and berries, and filled it full of them. At first I placed it on the sofa table, but it got lost in all the Christmas florals already there, so I moved it to the breakfast table. It shows better on the breakfast table because it isn't competing so much with the other items. Does your home look bare after all your Christmas dêcor has been stored away?  Mine feels kinda bare, but I was so ready for all the 'stuff' to be gone. I wanted to share a wonderful gift my daughter had done for me... this picture of my grandchildren, on canvas. Precious!!! I made it part of my mantel display. I received the cutest gift from a new friend.  She made this and I just think it is the cutest thing! It's made from a landscaping brick.  I'm keeping it out as part of my Winter décor on a bookcase, along with a few more snow people. The dining room table looks a little bare, but I don't want it "set" right now.  I'm enjoying it as it is for now, with nothing but a simple arrangement with a dash of red. Little hen joins good will finds,  the tray and tea pot.  Place mats are from consignment shop. This milk glass vase was a thrifty find.  The candle sticks were bought at a little shop in the mountains several years ago.  They were dark green, but recently got a coat of white spray paint.  This pedestal is from Ross or TJ Maxx.  The little bird came from a consignment shop. Vignette on burlap.   I've been moving everything around (AGAIN).  I painted and waxed this table last week with ASCP.  I really like the new look.  Someone suggested I put a less formal center piece on the table, and they were right.  This is much better. Having tired of my winter table scape in the dining room, I decided to change it up!!     I was mostly tired of the drop cloth table cloth.  It was on through Christmas and then through January, plus I was tired of the table taking up so much room.  I decided to take the leaf out of it and make it smaller. BEFORE BEFORE Here are the changes. AFTER  No table cloth.  These placemats were on clearance at Pier I for less than a dollar each.  Took the pink roses out of the pitcher, but left it on the table.  Changed back to the white dishes.  Kept the white napkins.I'm using my silver on a Armatele tray as the center piece.  I added the little green bird from Michael's for a early touch of spring.  I bought the little white bowl at a consignment shop yesterday for $5.00.  I love the shape of it.  I really like having the table without the leaf.  I'm loving this change!
