Do you love the look of chicken wire?  How about cloches?  How about a cloche made from chicken wire?  They are really easy to make, and it only takes a few minutes. I had some leftover chicken wire from when I placed it in the doors of the jelly cupboard.  So after seeing some of you make a cloche from the wire, I decided I would try to make one too. Here is the finished project.   It was a really easy project.   Would you like to make one? How to make a chicken wire cloche: GLOVES RECOMMENDED 1.      Cut a piece of wire the length and width you would like your cloche to be.  In this case, mine is about 12 inches tall, and 8 or 9 inches wide.   2.      Carefully mash out the wire to flatten it some, and then bend it in a large circle the diameter you want it to be.  The diameter of mine is about 5 inches across (after it is made into a circle). 3.     ...

I've seen on a few blogs where folks have found some really cute items for the home at Tractor Supply Company!  Well, we had one open about 4 miles from my house a couple of weeks ago, and they are having their grand opening celebration this weekend.  We went in to get dog food.  They had the kind our dogs love 50# for $18.00.  We bought 200#. Since we were there anyway, I decided I would look at their home decor items.  I was pleasantly surprised!! They had lots of empty space on the shelves where folks got there before me, but they had two of these chicken wire cloches left.  Cutest little thing! It holds twine, and a little pair of snips to cut off what you need.  I just had to bring one home with me.  I've bought several pieces recently made of chicken wire.  I was happy to add this to my collection. There were lots of sales a few Saturdays ago, so I made the rounds.  A large group of people had a sale at the local fairgrounds, under a pavilion complete with large industrial fans (comfort is important you know).  There were probably 25 or more separate sales areas in the pavilion so you could just walk thru one after the other.  Of course I don't need any more stuff, so I did restrain myself from buying.  There were a few items that I thought I could use for projects, so I spent three whole dollars at this sale.  There were some great items, but really,  I don't need anything.  At any rate these are the items I bought, and what I did with them. Today I am sharing a few of the projects I did in 2011.  I put away all the Christmas decorations on Monday since I had to go back to work on Tuesday.  The house feels less cluttered.  On to the projects.............. Put chicken wire in the jelly cupboard. Painted the wire chicken white. Tried my hand at using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Wax.   BEFORE Today, I decided to tackle a project that I have been wanting to do for a while.  We have the jelly cupboard that belonged to my MIL.  When we were going through her things and moving the items we wanted to bring home with us, hubby let the hand trucks hit the cupboard and broke the glass in one of the doors.  I always photographed it with the doors open so it wasn't noticeable.  But it was always staring at me when I would go into the sun room, so today, I decided to break the glass out of the other door and add chicken wire instead.  It was really easy to do.  I purchased a 10 ft roll of chicken wire at Lowe's for a little over three dollars.  After unrolling the wire a couple of feet, I held it up to the inside of  one of the doors and started stapling it.  Then I just snipped the remainder of the wire off and did the same thing on the other door.  It only took about 10 minutes and I love the way it looks now!  Wha...
