Sharing Shadymont, My Mountain Cottage

After changing the centerpiece in the dining room to blue and white, I decided to create a blue and white tablescape. I layered silver chargers with my blue and white porcelain.  I used the dinner plate, bread plate, and a small bowl.  For drinks, I used my Wedgwood (Jasper ware) glassware, found at Good Will a few months ago. I found a wonderful ceramic dough bowl and fruit at Good Will a few months ago, and have used it on my dining table ever since. Here it is when I had just bought it in the fall. Then at Christmas, I exchanged the fruit for ornaments, and used it like this. So this piece has been on my table for about 4 months!! Nothing stays put that long around here!!  It was time for a change. I hauled out my large wood tool tote, painted white over the blue, added some seed packet graphics on the sides with Mod Podge, stuck in some blue hydrangeas, and voila!  New look!! I decided I needed a runner on the table, so I added this blue one I've had for ages!! While I had the white paint out, I put the second coat on the hutch I shared last week. Once I got the 2nd coat of paint on, I didn't add back the papers I originally had on the backs of the hutch.  I wanted the planked look to show. This year, I am using my Christmas dishes purchased at a consignment sale my daughter held a few years ago.  I think I paid around $20.00 for the whole set, checked on Replacements website, and they would have cost me around $400.00 to purchase.  So it was a fabulous deal. They are Festive Holly, by Nikko.  I have enjoyed decorating with these dishes. I purchased the holly tablecloth from the same lady as the dishes.  It was three or four dollars.  The green glasses belonged to my Mother in law.  The silverware was also bought at the same consignment sale at a steal. The napkins and silver colored chargers are from Wal Mart.  I made the centerpiece by placing some Dollar Tree greenery in this pitcher, I found last year at a consignment shop, and made a bow for the handle from Dollar Tree ribbon. I didn't have any dishes that I would call Fall dishes.  Didn't!  Now I do!!  To set the table, I started out with these gold chargers that I've had a few years. Next I added the dinner plate.  Love the Fall colors, and what better to celebrate harvest, than the fruits on the plate. Next, the napkin, and the bowl. (using as a salad bowl)  I've had these napkins a few years too.  I think I bought them at Ross or Marshalls. Then came the stainless I scored for $10.00 at a consignment sale.  I got over 40 pieces for that price!! I kept the centerpiece I had already placed on the table, and used my tablecloth made from a drop cloth. A few leaves were scattered across the table. Here is a long shot of the dining table.
