I have found several nice things lately, some from Good Will and some from consignment, and I actually bought a NEW chair for my bedroom. It's more blue than it shows in the photos.  I found it at Home Goods for $79.     This piece is from consignment shop.  I also bought an oval lampshade from there.  Tablecloth from Good Will along with about 5 beige towels. I've been going to Good Will weekly and for the last few weeks, I haven't found much of anything, but today I hit the jackpot!! I have the bottom part to my mother's old Hoosier cabinet.  My dad for some reason, gave the top away after my mother passed away.  Why?  I have no idea.  The bottom half sat in my basement for years and a few years ago, I cleaned it up, painted it, and brought it upstairs into the mud room.  I use it to store my plastic ware. I would have loved to have found a Hoosier top, but had come to realize that probably would never happen.  I had decided a while back if I could ever run up on a hutch top, I would buy that and sit it on the Hoosier bottom. Well, today was the day!!  I paid $8.98 for this piece!! I found the neatest old chair at Good Will the other day.  It was only $3.93!!  I had to bring it home.  I had planned to sit it on the porch to hold a fern, but the more I looked at it, I decided I wanted to keep it inside for a while. It reminds me of chairs we had growing up. Look at the seat.  I don't know why it has holes in it.  I wonder if someone just repaired it with whatever they had.  You can see where the nails had been moved too.  I'd love to know its story. This is the design on the back.  I know it would look great with some chalk paint, but I'm liking it just the way it is. I placed it in the breakfast nook. Most of you know how I love roosters, and to me, nothing else says English or French Country more than roosters.    I tend to think of roosters in décor as more of a French theme.  So either way, it's European themed. The top of the cupboard contains lots of goodies, like the Gordon's jar, and the Coca cola tray.  These items were my MIL's. Love my chicken wire baskets. So whether this is French Country or English Country,  roosters remain in my breakfast nook. Most of these items are from consignment shops, like the lamp, the black handled tray, the runner.  I love buying items that will work with my decor, that have been pre-loved. The best thing about decorating with English Cottage style is being able to use lots of different items. I think the breakfast room meets the definition of English Country Decor. On Saturday, I decided I needed a little MORE retail therapy! Can you believe it!!  I knew there would be bargains to be found, and I love a bargain, so I brought a few pretty things home with me. My favorite find was this gorgeous runner for $8.99. AND it's reversible!! It also goes well with the runner on the pie safe. I got this sweet little cushion for $1.99! The "Snowmen Melt my Heart" sign/picture, was only $1.99 as well.  I'm just loving snowmen right now. I also found this planter for my aloe plant for only $8.99, too.  The ones I have been finding have been $12.99 and more.  I was glad to find this one.  I want to show you the cute roosters my daughter bought me for Christmas. We are at the lake home for a few days, and I decided to make a couple changes in the kitchen.  Since this is a mobile home, it has the wall panels that have a design on them, in this case the colors are blue and green.  I decided to try to find some curtains for the kitchen. Unfortunately, shopping around here is somewhat lacking, (to say the least) but I took a chance on the Wal Mart about 20 miles away.  I didn't see much that really popped out at me, but decided to bring some things home, knowing I could return them if I just couldn't handle the way they looked.  I spent around $70.00, and am o.k. with the changes.  (At least it's a change, and that makes me happy). I recently hung this topper over the sink, but didn't have a matching one that would fit the door (very near the window)........ so, I dug around and found this one for over the door.
