Fluffing My Nest

I've been shuffling things around which is nothing new.  I wake up really early every morning, and as I wander around with my coffee, I move this and that.  I enjoy making small changes that don't require lots of work or heavy lifting. All of the items were already in the room at one place or another, and I simply regrouped various items, or moved them to another place, to make them more prominent. The colors in the pictures, and those of the vase and flowers blend together quite well. This is a corner of the dining room, the perfect spot for the small table I bought. I found the vase at a Good Will store in another town. By placing the brass tray on this table, it is more easily seen, and adds a touch of brightness to this spot. Placing these Ball jars in the chicken wire basket near the turquoise lamp makes for a nice display. Keeping the gold and orange together gives this corner a warm ambience. Do you group items according to color

More Dining Room Decor

I have several tables in the dining room that are great for decorating, the tea cart, a side table, and the bombe table. Tea Cart Of course I've been tweaking everything, trying to get it like I want.  Above is the first try on decorating the tea cart.  Below shows it with the changes I made. You can see in the photo before this one, that I've added ornaments to the 3-tiered tray.  Much better, I think with the addition of green.                          I moved the chair I recently painted to a corner in the dining room, to hold this lantern. I bought these picks and ribbon at Dollar Tree for a total of $3.00.  It was an easy project to make this to attach to the lantern. Later, I moved the lantern to the bottom of the hall tree, and brought in this antique egg basket full of Christmas decor.  The holly table cloth over the back of the chair is from GW. So there you have the other decor in the dining room for this holiday s

Fall Decor for a Three Tiered Tray

When I saw that the ladies from Thoughts of Home on Thursday were having 3-tiered tray extravaganza, I knew I had just the piece to decorate.  I recently found this brass 3 tiered tray at Good Will for literally, maybe 3 or so dollars.  It's in fantastic condition.  I went to the basement and rambled through my bins and brought up enough pieces of fall decor to use.  I simply placed things on each tier, and shuffled them around between the tiers until I liked the look. I just used pieces of this and that, that I've had for a long time. I tried to keep the look natural. It sits on the tea cart my husband recently bought. I found this topiary screen Saturday at Good Will, and decided to create a different vignette, featuring the tiered tray. I like it as a backdrop, and it works well with the room. It's not easy to see, but the pitcher has a pumpkin on the front. I wasn't really excited over the tea cart when we saw it, but I'm
