A Chair for My Bedroom, and Good Will Finds

I have found several nice things lately, some from Good Will and some from consignment, and I actually bought a NEW chair for my bedroom. It's more blue than it shows in the photos.  I found it at Home Goods for $79.     This piece is from consignment shop.  I also bought an oval lampshade from there.  Tablecloth from Good Will along with about 5 beige towels. Love this rooster, recent GW find. Adding More Blues to the Sunroom

We are back in the mountains now.  We drove all day Sunday. It's a long way to the lakehouse, about 350 miles.  We split the driving when possible (when my sore feet will let me).  I've had chronic gout for a number or months, and now there is a big protrusion on the back of my ankle.  Haven't self-diagnosed that one yet!  :)  I bought a compression ankle support that holds heat in right on the spot that hurts, plus it gives support so that I can walk much better.  Yay!! I had a hair appointment yesterday morning, so I made a quick trip through housewares in our Good Will.  I bought 2 picture frames, a paper towel holder, an adorable mixed media canvas, and a beautiful table cloth.  So, the sun room has some more blue now. I don't believe this tablecloth had been used.  It is spotless, and fills like it has never been laundered. I kept the tablescape simple.  White dishes from Wal Mart, silver ware, blue glasses, and ...

Sharing Some Nice Finds, and Selling Stuff

I've been in selling mode for the last month!  I've had two yard sales, one here at Shadymont, and one at the lake house!!  I've made about $400 on EBay, and they requested I become a Network EBay Affiliate, so I did! SOLD SOLD   SOLD SOLD   SOLD   SOLD SOLD My first yard sale was held in my basement.  I had quite a few crafts I'd made, and some wreaths, and LOTS of "smalls".  No clothing, tools, or those kinds of things.  Just MY things that I wanted to get rid of!   Almost everything sold.  I put very little back into the storage bins! SOLD, basket I had the sale at the lake house on the front porch last Friday!  I got rid of lots of good things there too, mostly linens, blankets, comforters, towels, that type of thing.  A young lady whose home had burned hit the jackpot!  She was out early looking for items to replace some of those she lost in the fire.  For $28, I...

Finding Fabulous

Recent visits to a few favorite shops yielded some fabulous treasures. Don't you just love this  wonderful, colorful, faded table cloth?  ($6.99). Seen here on the entry table. Gorgeous colors!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been wanting a new picture above my loveseat. This was only $14.99, and perfect for a Spring display. I kept the shelf I had there, and added some other items to the wall, including these DT rabbits for a nod to Easter. I hung a basin and decanter set alongside, and filled it with bird nests with eggs, bought at Michael's a couple years ago. I picked up this small plate for $2.00 at the second shop I visited.  I knew it would look good with the picture. Final Display ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  These 2 pillow covers were a total of $12.00, so I bought them for the office.   You can see the recent office makeover   here . I love the fabric, and though it doesn't have the exact same...

It's Autumn in my Dining Room

I'm busy tweaking some of my original Fall decor.  I started with just a small amount of color on the dining room table. I had planned to stop with just this, but then decided to use a table cloth I found last year at a consignment shop.  I removed the drop cloth/burlap runner, and bunched up the table cloth in the center of the table.  I also added a small black dough bowl filled with flowers/leaves, to the vignette.  I kept the candlesticks too.    Here is the more colorful vignette. The colorful cloth works well to anchor the vignette. I kept the sideboard as I decorated it a while ago, simply adding some acorns to the basket, and a fabric pumpkin I made last year to the end of the table.   The burlap wreath I made last year got a colorful update with the orange mums.   The bookcase got a few Fall touches. The top of the china cabinet got some color, as did the inside.  On the top, I placed...
