Small Items From Good Will

Being the Good Will addict that I am, I'd like to share some of my recent home decor items with you.    This turquoise plate is the perfect color for my decor. I love this small tote.  I picked up one that was larger in green, but by the time I got ready to leave, I put a few things back.  It was really nice, but I have 3 or 4 now and don't need to keep bringing them home. This small lamp reminds me of those from years ago.  It was around $5. I painted the trim and drawer on this table earlier this week with left over Wythe Blue (BM).  I didn't get it in the shot but the picture above it has some purple, so I made this vignette in purple.   I was thrilled to find this old fashioned candle holder, blue and white, especially.  It's on the hoosier/hutch in the mud room. Back view   This cage came  in a rusty color, but you know I had to paint it.  I found it on 2 different shelves, with 2 prices, ob...

Recent Good Will Finds and How I am Using Them

I've been hitting the Good Will stores frequently in the last 3 weeks, and have bought some neat treasures. The plate and the lampshade are recent finds. Yesterday I purchased the vase on the right and the 2 pictures The artist, Abigail makes her art from pressed flowers. The lamp shades came in a package of 2.  The  shades were marked @ 5.99 ea., new in packages.  So they were new for $2.92. I liked the frames, too. I admire this artists work!  So pretty.  This vase was found some time ago, and the two of them work fine together. The look showing the wall, a sort of gallery look. This cabinet is called a hall cabinet and was made nearby my home.  I've managed to keep it the original color. Last week I found a large package or round balls in aqua and white. So I put them in the bowl on top of the crystal curio. Recently we eat at the bar.  I found these BHG placemats new with tags.  This bunch ...

Changing the Decor on the Hall Tree

I'm having so much fun trying out different decor items on the hall tree I purchased a couple of weeks ago.  See all about it here .  Probably the best bargain I have ever found!! I originally had a small lamp on it, but put this larger lamp on it today. This lamp originally had a brown print shade, but I switched it for this burgundy one, and added a burlap rose I made a while back. I kept the silver coffeepot filled with tulips, and added this plate. (I made these photos with my computer, and am trying out the Fotor Editing Program).  I think I'll like it once I get the hang of it!  :)  PicMonkey has gotten so it crashes everytime I try to use it.  Are any of you having that problem? I like having the larger lamp here. This is my new favorite spot to decorate.  Be sure to check back to see what changes next. Rearranging Furniture

Having felt so badly recently, I haven't moved things around in a long time.  Hubby and I were sitting here the other day, and I told him I'd like to swap places with the love seat and a bombé type table.  So we did.  That called for a new vignette on the table so it would "go" with the wall décor above it.  Here's what I did. The wall had a gallery type design already.  Several objects hung together as a wall vignette, so I needed the table to blend in with the wall décor.  The plate previously hung on the wall where the lampshade stands now, so I put it on the table, along with a décor book on English Country (my fave). The flower pot and flower was a 20 cents yardsale find that matches the plate perfectly. I really like the new arrangement with the loveseat across from the sofa.  The room is much more open and spacious. A couple shots of the loveseat in its new spot. Finding Fabulous

Recent visits to a few favorite shops yielded some fabulous treasures. Don't you just love this  wonderful, colorful, faded table cloth?  ($6.99). Seen here on the entry table. Gorgeous colors!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been wanting a new picture above my loveseat. This was only $14.99, and perfect for a Spring display. I kept the shelf I had there, and added some other items to the wall, including these DT rabbits for a nod to Easter. I hung a basin and decanter set alongside, and filled it with bird nests with eggs, bought at Michael's a couple years ago. I picked up this small plate for $2.00 at the second shop I visited.  I knew it would look good with the picture. Final Display ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  These 2 pillow covers were a total of $12.00, so I bought them for the office.   You can see the recent office makeover   here . I love the fabric, and though it doesn't have the exact same...
