Sharing Shadymont, My Mountain Cottage

I don't know if this table is vintage, or a reproduction. Either way, it doesn't matter to me.  I remember my grandmother having a table made like this, only hers was bigger.  I bought it at The Hen's Nest Consignment Shop for only $30.00.  I saw it on Thursday, and didn't buy it because I couldn't think where I would place it. After getting home, I realized I had a perfect place so I went back on Friday morning and bought it.  I have a habit of doing that it seems. I moved the aqua door back to the sun room, and gave its spot to my table. Love the turned legs, and the scalloped edge on the top.  Similar tables online cost much more.  They are called two tiered lamp tables.   I brought my MIL's antique lamp in from the office, a stack of books, and a bird nest sit on top.  I leaned a DT grapevine wreath on it too. Just strolling through the house to snap a few photos of spaces decked out for spring.  Enjoy!! Birds and nests in cloches.... Ball jars and insulator in pink box.  Bunnies and crosses. A few bunnies, here and there. Eggs Hall tree welcomes with birds and flowers. Picture found at Good Will for $3.93.  Works perfectly in the guest room. Dried hydrangeas also sit in the guest room.  They are held up by a tall candlestick. The aqua door is decorated for spring. It has been some time since I did a tablescape so I'm sharing one I did for Spring/Easter in the sun room. The vintage china pattern is Elegance Crescent China/Japan.   I placed the dinner and salad plates atop a pink scalloped charger, added the silverware, a simple wine glass and that completes the setting. The sun is streaming through the windows today, casting shadows across the table and the room. The sandwich plate is a pink depression glass pattern given to me by my mother-in-law. The napkins are pink Rachel Ashwell shabby chic. Across the room on a vintage table, I have an Easter vignette. Thanks for visiting. Today, I had the chance to get out and do some thrifty shopping.  First stop, Good Will.  I found a great picture ($3.93) for the guest room that I'll share later on, a huge bag of curtain ring clips for $1.51, and a decorating book to add to my collection for $2.92. My next stop was Wal Mart for some vitamins and a few other things, then on to the Hen's Nest.  I used the gift certificate Blake and Rachel gave me for my birthday.  I bought the items for this Easter vignette I have on the coffee table. I love this glass pedestal dish. I purchased a small bag of spotted eggs to place in it, and also this sweet basket filled with white tulips. By placing all the items in this white wooden box, I created a sweet Easter vignette.

I made this wreath in a matter of about five minutes. It is very simple to make, and inexpensive. HERE'S HOW: Supplies:  ( I bought mine at Wal Mart) 1 medium grapevine wreath   $4.74 5 bushes of daffodils (flowers of your choice) @ .97 ea              $4.85 1 roll of ribbon with wire        $ 4.00                                                               Total:               $13.59 You will need wire cutters, and a piece of wire, or twine to tie the bow to the wreath. With a grapevine wreath, you can insert the flowers snugly between the vines, and not even use glue.  If pushed in well, they won't come out easily. First, clip the bushes apart so you have single stems. Place them in one direction (as I did), then the other direction until you get the fullness you desire. My daughter gave me a gift certificate to my favorite consignment shop for my birthday.  I decided to get some 'new to me' items to change up the powder room for spring, and to give it a cottage look. I bought a window treatment, a Homer Laughlin pink and white platter  & a rose spray.
