Recent Frugal Finds

Today, I want to show you some recent finds, and what I did with them.  I found this iron piece probably 14 years ago but never knew what it should be used for.  I tried adding a small bowl of potpourri but it was top heavy and kept tipping over   I used it in the guest bath for a towel holder.   While at my favorite consignment shop, I found something to use with it!!   This cute nest with eggs. It's not too heavy and fits perfectly!  I think this is the cutest nest! I also found an old faded feed sack. The label is very faded aqua, and says Southern Feeds.  I used it to cover an ottoman I added to the office.  I just draped it over the ottoman, and tied it with jute twine. It's not easy to see the label on the sack, but it's the perfect color for my new office color. This tray is one I painted a long while back. Decorating ~ Garden Style

Hey y'all, Hope you're having a fabulous week.   After I gathered these photos together for a blog post, I realized that they all depict nature in one way or another.  I guess you could say I have a recurrent garden theme going on in my home.  Not by intent, just things I've used throughout my home.  Do you ever feel drawn to items for no particular reason, at least no conscious reason?     The little nest above was attached to the back of a wreath I had on the front door.  I switched the wreath for another one, only to discover much later that the one I removed had this little nest and eggs attached to the back.  I tried putting it back on the door to see if the Mama bird would return, but she didn't.     The photo above shows part of a hydrangea.    What says garden more than a wire cloche with a bird and flower inside?   The red "fence" above this cabinet at the lake home is actually a side boa...
