Sharing Shadymont, My Mountain Cottage

Today, I'm sharing an entry table/shelf made from an old door.  It belongs to my daughter, and she bought it at the consignment shop that we visit frequently. I showed you here , where she decorated her porch for the summer in patriotic decor.  She's using it in the interior of her home as well. If you look closely, you will see that the back is made from 1/2 of the old door, while the shelves are each made from a single panel. It is a heavy piece of furniture.  Notice the different columns used as support. View from the side. Here you can see the old window with a flag painted on it hanging just above the table. The flag sign, and the "pray" below were painted by my granddaughter and granddaughter-in-law.  They found old wood scraps among the trees at the edge of the property, and cleaned them and painted them. Today I'm sharing my daughter, Pam's, front porch decked out for the summer months. She recently had her entire house painted, and shopped her basement to decorate the front porch. When she first built her home in early 2001, she had decorated my grandson's room in patriotic colors, and had long ago stored those items in the basement when she changed his room to a UGA, Georgia Bulldogs decor theme. I think she has done a fabulous job with this, and only bought new cushions for the chairs from Cracker Barrel. I made this wreath for her door, and bought these supplies from Michael's.  She already had the flag. She tweaked it by making a knot in the flag to shorten it some.  It looks much better since she did that. Pam made the sign, and painted the galvanized tub.  The paint color is Benjamin Moore, Raspberry Trufle.  She has used this color as an accent color throughout her house.  I'll share the updates in a post soon.  The...
