Sharing Shadymont, My Mountain Cottage

My Grandson's wedding was this past Saturday, and my daughter asked if I would decorate for the rehearsal dinner on Friday night.  Since the wedding was casual, we decided to use mason jars as vases for the centerpieces.  I took a trip to Michaels, and bought clear pint and quart jars to use. On Wednesday, I took all my goodies to my craft area in the basement, and got busy shabbying the jars.  I used both chalk paint, and acrylic. After putting one to two coats on the jars, I distressed them using a sanding block/sponge.  Then out came the tidbits to dress them up. I have pastels, and warm colors. Quart jars (above) No two are exactly the same. Pint jars (above) I kept the silver band on some of them. While browsing the antique store the other day, I saw this oval frame collage. I couldn't find a price on it, but knew that I could make my own out of items I already had.  I gathered some foam board, and various papers and embellishments together and proceeded to create my own framed collage.  I laid the frame down on the foam board, drew around the inside of the frame, and used a utility knife to cut out the foam board. Next, I just started placing bits and pieces of the items I had gathered together into the frame. Below is my finished project.  I used more color than the inspiration piece.  I have used these strips with musical notes on them for several crafts.  I made them by printing sheet music off the computer, and cutting it into strips.  Some of the fowers are Wallies, and the daisies are embellishments from Michael's.   The letters spelling FLEURS are also from Michael's. I saw the sweetest idea on Backyard Bungalow's FB page.  One that I knew I could copy quickly.  I already had all the materials.   I painted and distressed this frame some time ago, and added the scrap paper to the back.  This is the base of the craft.   I had picked up some mounting tabs at DT a few weeks ago, and some alphabet letters, and embellishments at Michael's and DT.   (embellishments) Here is the idea I found on Backyard Bungalow  FB page.
