This Week's Good Will Finds

I've been staying with my granddaughter this week, so I waited until around 7 PM to make my Tuesday Good Will visit.  I was hoping to find some more old bottles. Fresh out! None to be found, but I did find some great buys. First up, this lovely pillow for $2.65. It looks new, and is very clean. I have several rooms where this can be used, but it's in the sunroom for now. This smaller blue print pillow is in good condition as well.  I think I paid $1.43 for it. Next, I found an unusual picture frame that I bought,  also, $1.43 My daughter, @ age 18 Next, a brass (heavy) 3-tiered tray for $3.70. I placed it on the tea cart, and added some faux grapes.  This is a really nice piece, and will be used in various ways in my decor, so a great find. Total spent:  $9.85, not bad for all these goodies.  Can't wait until I can go again!! :) Sharing here: Share Your Style Share Your C up Thoughts of H...

Wreath ~ Au Naturel

Au Naturel, early 19th century French word meaning, literally in the natural state. Imagine, I've been here, at the lake house, surrounded by all types of natural elements, and just today, made a wreath using some of these gifts of nature! I pulled some Magnolia leaves from a nearby tree, picked up some pine cones, and some Magnolia cones, and several sprigs of berries from another tree, and hot glued all of it to an old picture frame.   Anyway, here is my wreath. Love. It. !!! I tried to wash the spots off the leaves, but I couldn't remove them. Not sure what type of tree these leaves and berries came from, but they look so pretty.  Maybe it's some kind of holly. The cone to the left is from a pine tree, and the one to the right is from the magnolia tree.  The magnolia produces seed cones in the Fall.  They are pretty, but rough on mowers! This took all of 10 minutes to make.  I just glued...

Frugal Yard Sale Finds & a Quick Project

It goes without saying that I am frugal!  I visited a couple yard sales on Saturday, and came away with a few items, all for $2.50. I found this like new shower curtain for $.50.  I plan to use it to cover the cushions in the rockers on the front porch or in the chairs on the screened porch.   This Kirkland's picture frame still in the package was originally $12.99, then a red sticker showed $8.99.  I got it for $1.00.  Love the fall colors. This flower pot, hand stamped and painted by the seller was $.50.  I can always find a use for it.  Of course it could hold a plant, pencils/pens, paint brushes, makeup brushes....all kinds of uses. This small picnic basket was also hand painted by the seller.  It was $.50 as well.  I've already filled it with tiny faux pumpkins. This photo makes it look bigger than it is.  It's actually about 6" square, but so cute. Pretty good haul I'd say!  All this for $2.50...
