Do you ever just have the blahs?  I've been so lazy for the last couple weeks. No energy to do anything!!  Today I finally did some cleaning, but as far as having any creative energy, well that's just not happening right now.  On that note, I was looking through some of my photos and decided to get a post together from photos with a common theme.  So, hope you enjoy these "white" vignettes. This makes me wish for Spring. Birds, bird cages, green plants Tea time. Y'all know I have a rooster fetish!  Thanks to Cracker Barrel, I have a cannister set to add to my flock.  These were gifted to us, and match my platter hubby bought me for Christmas. I set them on the corner cupboard near the platter, pictures, clock, and rooster lamp.   I have really enjoyed this vignette on this side cabinet. While at our lake home for the last week, I really took advantage of being lazy.  I remembered a heart shaped pillow that I had there and added it to the bed in the master.   Simple valentine decor!  No work required, just moved it from one room to another.  :)  It's eyelet material with eyelet lace.  So cute!  It belonged to my MIL, so I have no idea how old it is.   My other quick project was adding burlap ribbon to this wreath that hangs in the master bedroom too. I made this wreath a long time ago by just attaching a short rose garland to a grapevine wreath, and adding a bow. I had brought a spool of burlap ribbon with me, so i removed the gold ribbon, and just weaved the burlap in and out of the flowers. Made a simple bow for it and viola!  Done! When we recently received our king size bed back from my step son, it allowed me to place our queen size suite in the guest room.  The layout of the room does not allow me to have the furniture arranged exactly like I would prefer, but having matching pieces is rather nice.  I like to know that guests are comfortable. This is the view coming in the doorway. This quilt was purchased several years ago at Wal Mart for only 24 dollars.  I love the shabby chic look of it. The dresser sits on the long wall in the room, but in an alcove which has a french door leading to the screened porch. The TV is stored in a large armoire.  Note the Mickey Mouse radio. It belonged to my stepson when he was a small boy.  I placed it in here because of the aqua color, since that is the main color in this room. One of my favorite areas to decorate at our home in the mountains,  is the wall in the entry.  Here is what I did for Valentines Day. I simply moved a pot of roses, and two candlesticks to the table.  They blend with the lampshade.  A picture made on our wedding day sits on the shelf in a frame with a heart-shaped opening.  I found this at consignment.  Above the shelf and picture of the chapel is a large space.  What to put there????  While rummaging in the basement to get the other Valentine's decor, I grabbed these three bushes of geraniums.  They've been used for years now, mostly outside, but still look fairly good.  So I took one of them apart, and wired them all together with a pipecleaner, put a red bow on it, and a few wiry valentine garland sprigs, and viola!! A red swag for the wall vignette. I think it turned out rather nice.  Cost.....nothing.  Everything was on hand! P.S.  Since I first started this post, I ran across this subway art o

We came to the lake house yesterday, so I brought a few frugal items with me to decorate for Valentines.  Nothing elaborate at all.  I saw this idea at Cottage at the Crossroads . Jane had made some of the prettiest fabric hearts for her home.  She gave excellent instructions, so I decided to give it a try.  I already had all the fabric scraps, so by following Jane's directions, I came up with these for decorations at the lake. These set atop the TV armoire.  I spent no money at all for this project. I think they add just the right amount of color.  I brought some flowers from Dollar Tree with me from our other home, and added them to this old hobnail vase.  The picture here was around $6.00 some time ago at the Dollar General.  The scarf on the armoire is part of a pillow case left from the fabric heart project.  I just trimmed the edge with pinking shears to even it up. Well of course, the mantel has to have some Valentine goodies displayed, so I got busy and spiffed up my "gate" .  All I did was add some heart picks, and hang two red berry hearts on it. Red candles were added to my white candlesticks, and garland was wrapped around them.  I aded two heart shaped bud vases with red roses, and called it done. While out shopping last Saturday with my daughter, I saw some burlap hearts.     They were priced at $7.99.  I decided I could make my own.  I knew I had a good sized piece of burlap left from other projects. I used a paper doily heart as the pattern, and cut out enough for two hearts.  I simply sewed them together, left an opening for padding to be inserted, and then sewed up the opening.  This is how they turned out. Aren't they cute?  Cost.....Nothing!  I already had everything. I used the hearts, a vintage silhouette picture, and a Dollar Tree wreath to decorate my sewing drawer for Valentine's!  I love it!!! This shelf holds the other silhouette picture, valentine cards the hubby and I gave each other last year, 3 heart picks, and an angel.   I made this wreath a year or so ago, and use it fr valentine's.  The heart picks can be pulled out if I choose to useit for another occasion.   It hangs above the bookcase on the o
