Sharing Shadymont, My Mountain Cottage

I recently showed you the love seat we purchased for the family room. We weren't sure we would like it or its style.  After a couple weeks of use, we were sold!!  Talk about comfortable!  Neither of us have sat any other place since we got it.  We decided we would buy the matching sofa.  It has one stationary section, but both ends recline. The sofa was delivered today, along with a fabulous accent chair, which I love! Isn't this fabric gorgeous? Loving the arrangement! I was thinking I needed to buy a basket to hold our throws, but then I remembered this vintage egg basket. It works perfectly! The vintage table is one I found at an unbelievable price. After all the red for the last couple months, it is time for more soothing colors.  I created a simple mantel design and really like the calming colors. I kept the picture of my grandchildren, as well as the white shutters. All I added is these three aqua jars, and a little more white. These faux flowers cost me a whole penny!!  How's that for a bargain? My beautiful grandchildren, my heart and soul! That's my current mantel, simple and soothing. I decided I should do something else with the old window frame that I got at my Grandmother's house. I've enjoyed this, but decided I wanted to change it.  I removed the lace, the one piece of wood left where a pane would have fit, and everything else from the frame.  Next, I stained the frame with some leftover stain, in golden oak.  I brushed it on with a foam brush. The picture I attached to the frame was one bought several years ago.  It had fallen from the wall a couple years ago, breaking both the glass and the frame.  I tried to sell it in my yard sale last Friday, but it didn't sell.  Now I'm glad it didn't!! To be honest, the picture was a little too small for the frame, but I came up with a way to keep that from showing. I taped the picture to the back of the window frame, then covered that in brown painter's paper, by taping that on too, and stapeling in some spots.  Viola!  it worked!!  So here is the frame, all changed!...
