Marty (A Stroll Thru Life) is having a fun party so we can all show off our cloches!  I always enjoy her parties.  She's such a gracious hostess.  Be sure you stop by to see all the decorating ideas for using your cloches.   Right now, most of my cloches are holding birds.  Come along and see them.  I've really enjoyed using them this way. First up, though, is my cheese dome/cloche that I filled with ceramic roses.  I made this early in my blogging days, but recently painted it aqua and added a fleur de lis. This swirly cloche sits on a Limoge plate, and covers a sweet birdhouse.  It is part of a tray vignette on the coffee table. The colorful bird in this cloche is from Dollar Tree.   I love using this large cloche with the white pedestal, and the key with yellow ribbon blend in so well.   You've seen this little bird before.  The sign it carries says "Joy". My favorite spot to sit directly faces the fireplace and bookcases.  So, I'm sitting here BORED this morning, and decided I needed to change my view a little.  I removed everything from the bookshelf, dusted, and gave this bookcase a little makeover.  I love the sewing drawer I painted a while back, so I moved it to the bookcase so I can see it.  All I did to decorate it was add a doily and these sweet pink flowers. I just adore this drawer.     Here you can see two of the shelves.   Not only can I enjoy the drawer, I can see three cloches each holding a bird. I love this color of pink.  It provides a bright focal point. I placed this little bird on an egg, in this pot that holds a nest with eggs. Such an easy change, no cost, and more bright and cheerful. It's always fun to link to Marty's cloche party.  Here are the cloches currently on display at Shadymont.  Enjoy! The bird inside this cloche carries a sign of "Joy". The wire cloche is a favorite.  The nest on top holds blue eggs. The cloche below is my largest one.  It always photographs like this, and editing doesn't help.  It holds a sweet little cherub. This abandoned nest found last year still holds five little eggs. This small cloche fits the nest perfectly.   I've covered the nest with the cloche below for a sweet vignette.   The swirl design of the cloche gives the impression of many eggs in the nest.   The apothecary jar still holds shreds of old book pages, and pears.   The cloche below features another sweet cherub, and is included in a Valentine's vignette. Today I'm sharing signs of Spring in my home.  What says Spring better than bird nests, birds, flowers, and cloches ? This is a favorite.  In the header, I have a large glass cloche covering this one.   I removed the glass cloche to cover this little floral piece I bought today at the consignment shop. Very simple little flower pot, nothing really special until the cloche is added. Just look at the difference the cloche makes.  It gives it more elegance, and elevates the importance of the small floral.   Much prettier, but I still may add some embellishments, maybe a small bird.    We can't forget the little cloche with the roses. I hope Spring has settled in at your home.  I think we're going straight into Summer in Northeast Georgia.  It was 80 degrees at 5 PM Friday when I was driving home from work.  Unbelievable!   I'm linking to Funky Junk Interiors for Saturday Night Special.

I've been bringing more Spring items into our rooms even though I'm not sure Spring is here quite yet.   It was around 64 degrees this morning when I left for work, and now at 9:00 PM, it's down to 45 and supposed to be 34 in the morning.  Kinda wonky weather in North Georgia.  I did notice the weeping cherry trees are starting to bud, though, so maybe it won't be much longer . How do you like my little Mommy and Baby rabbits?  I found this a couple of years ago at a consignment shop. It's Springtime on top of the jelly cupboard.  The window swag is made from a twin size sheet. I found the bird cage at an antique shop, I believe.  There's no way to open it to place anything in it, but I may be able to insert some greenery through the bars.   In the family room, I have a cloche within a cloche!   (Playing with Picasa) And, what would Spring be without tulips? I realize I may be rushing things, but I've been longing for Spring.  After the reds of Christmas and then Valentine's Day, it's time for some lighter colors. So....this morning, I got busy and made a few changes in the dining room and sun room.  Here are a few shots of the changes. First, the dining room......  I removed the runner made from drop cloth fabric and burlap ribbon. This runner is a piece of fabric that I found at my favorite consignment shop. I brought out the little "Spring" box that I bought last year. Here's my favorite bird house.  I re-painted it last year, adding the pink and green. Then I brought out the little rabbit, cloche, and the green bird.  The plant is a spider plant.  A co-worker gave me a cutting off hers.  Can't wait until it gets larger.   This tablecloth was bought at a thrift shop last year.   The rabbit family was bought at the consignment sale my daughter had a while back.
