The Beauty of House Plants

I always bring my house plants inside for the winter, and all but one fits nicely in the sun room.  They provide such a welcome spot on gray winter days.  See what I mean? The smaller plants sit near the window, and they have really grown a lot this winter.   This vignette reminds me that Spring is coming soon! This plant sits beside the wicker rocker, where it gets more indirect light. This Christmas Cactus has a few red buds.    The Philodendron sits in front of the french door in the dining room.  I still can't believe how large it has grown.  I planted one tiny little bulb and look at this. Come Spring, they will all go back on the screened porch, but for now they add beauty to the inside of our home. Where do you winter your plants? My Easy Winter Decor

Guess what?  I'm using part of my Christmas decor as my Winter decor.  I had a snowman theme for Christmas, so  while packing away the Christmas decor, I just left certain items out for the month of January.  Easy to do, and I'm happy with how it turned out. The mantel: I removed the Merry Christmas sign, added snowflakes to the "gate", changed up the floral stems, added a wooden snowman, 2 snowmen for the mantel, and scrabble letters that spell "Let it Snow".   I love how these items look on the "gate".  I love using the white berries with the green and red.  These stems were part of an arrangement I had for Christmas in the sunroom. Do you see the little snow man?  It is wood, and spells SNOW.   China Cabinet: I liked the little pops of red in the china cabinet, so I left those and added some mercury glass acorns to the mix.   I think this will work just fine for January.  I've...
