Today, I was in the mood to make something, so I made a runner for the side table, and a pillow cover for the bed that blends in much better than what I had been using. Then, I brought in this runner for the night stand. I've had this piece of fabric for some time, found at GW, of course.  I think that goes without saying!!  While making a runner for the table on my side of the bed, I decided I would make a cover for the pillow on the bed.  I used another scrap of the same fabric, and then cut a piece of eyelet from a scrap of dust ruffle, to give it a little something extra. I had made these curtains for underneath the table a few weeks ago, and finally found a tension rod that fit underneath the table like I wanted from the beginning.  The runner is the same fabric. The curtains hide the bipap supplies, like gallons of distilled water for its humidifier. The bipap machine looks horrible sitting beside the bed, but it is a necessity for me at nig...

I had a gift certificate left from Christmas, so Friday I decided to go to Queen of Hearts to see what I could find.  I found this wonderful runner.  It is huge, fringed on all sides, and wide enough to cover the slate in the center of my coffee table. It is doubled here.  I thought about cutting it into two pieces, but I know I'll love this length for the dining table, so I just folded it.  I love that it covers the green slate in the center of the table.  I found the Pottery Barn vase and flowers at Good Will a while back. I had never thought about getting votive cups for this candelabra until I saw the same item in the store, and decided I wanted some for this piece. We checked out a Good Will store in a town about 40 miles from home the other day.  These are the only 2 items that I purchased for a total of $4 and change. I loved the look of this picture, and think it has a French vibe and the frame is so nice.  I gave $1.51 for it, so that was a steal. This item has a French look as well, with the fleur de lis design on the front. It was $2.92, I believe.  I went down to the basement into my Christmas stash of twigs and berries, and filled it full of them. At first I placed it on the sofa table, but it got lost in all the Christmas florals already there, so I moved it to the breakfast table. It shows better on the breakfast table because it isn't competing so much with the other items. If you are like me, you can't leave well enough alone!  I've been busy tweaking my fall decor.  Sometimes, you just have to keep at it until it looks like you want. That's what I've been doing in the dining room. Last week I added color to the table by incorporating fall dishes with those already in each place setting.  I just wasn't satisfied with the centerpiece or the runner. I decided to remove the bowls, switch out the napkins, add real white pumpkins, switch the runner, and do a new centerpiece. So realistically, all that I left from before was part of the dishes, and the tablecloth. Here are the changes I made. BEFORE Note, runner, and center decor~centerpiece needs to be elevated.
