Goodies

If you assume that the place I shop most is Good Will, you are right.  For this Friday, I'm going to show you some recent goodies from there. Gorgeous tureen.  I'm on the lookout for a white glass spoon for it.  The dish and small cloche.  Milk Glass, found several pieces that day.  I've found lots of crystal.  I had never seen this in black.  Love it! Lovely aqua bottle.  Maybe a butter dish.  The plate has sides that fit snugly beneath domed top. Plate, and all but one of the Willow Tree collection.  What's not to love about this dove?  Recently found this little purple lidded jar.  So pretty. Lamp, frame, pink box and vase, all from Good Will. Mantel Display

I finally decided to stop decorating and re-decorating the mantel.  Sometimes, I can get it the way I like on the first try, and sometimes, I can't.  I had a hard time deciding on what to use there for the winter months.  Of course, it will get some color for Valentine's Day, but for now, it's mostly done in neutrals. I like using various items as the focal point.  Here, I've used the topiary screen.  The angels are part of my collection.  All these were gifted to me by a former boss.  She gave me many more that I will show sometime, but these are heavy lead crystal. Each end of the mantel holds a taupe painted shutter, a white plate, and a piece of milk glass.  The lighted heart garland is a Target Dollar Spot find for $5. The hearth holds a pot of faux Paper Whites. Sharing here: A Bouquet of Talent Share It One More Time @ One More Time Events Dishing It and Digging It Sunday’s at Home @  My ...

Second Visit to Estate Sale, and Good Will Shopping

Last Saturday morning, I went back to the estate sale where I found the Homer Laughlin dishes.  They had slashed the prices in half for small items, and 25% off of large items.  They had really cleared out a lot of things after my first visit on Friday. There were still furniture pieces, and larger items, but the smaller items had really been picked over.  I found three more items that I bought. The white dish is Homer Laughlin, the one with the pink border isn't marked.  I added the plate and small bowl to other items for vignettes in the drop front desk.  An old sewing machine drawer that I painted and distressed holds the plate, a flower frog, and a good will small glass tray. I dug through my stash and placed the pink rimmed bowl, a birds nest inside this white wood box I found at Home Goods. I added the milk glass piece to my growing collection in the china cabinet. After leaving the estate sale, I decided to stop at Good W...

Vintage Perfection

I think I have an addiction to shopping Good Will!!  I go in several times a week since it's so close to my house, and cause you never know what you'll miss if you don't go by regularly. Right?  On a recent visit, I found quite a few items that I liked and here are some of the vintage items I found. First up, this sweet lamb planter.  I think it may be a McCoy.  It is heavy, has no markings, but I read where early on they simply placed a paper sticker on their pottery.  I did some research and it looks just like some of the ones shown as McCoy.  Either way, it is definitely old. Then I found this gorgeous bottle.  It seems old to me, and again no markings at all, but the glass has numerous bubbles, especially in the bottom. I found this pitcher to add to my non  collection.  I loved the design. I already had the yellow tin, but loved the green one, which probably isn't old. No way, could I leave this milk ...

Collections Etcetera

I'm sharing some of my favorite collections with you today.  I have a small collection of milk glass and white dishware.   Good Will tea pot and dish on the left.  The dish on the right is from a chip/dip set from K Mart. I believe both of these are consignment finds. This milk glass/hob nail vase belonged to my MIL. Some favorite crystal, some gifts, some from consignment shops.  I love the sparkle. A lovely glass angel collection.  These are all from a former boss.  I treasure them so much. More angels. (gifts) These are gifts also. Belonged to my MIL. Vintage hankies inside stemware. Here you can see some of my Mom's vintage handkerchiefs.     Collection of fairies. These two little fairies are sitting beside an antique lamp.  These are a few of my collections.  Hope you enjoyed!
