Sweet Find

Tuesdays are Senior Discount day at our local Good Will.  Of course I made my rounds through the housewares, and found the cutest thing.  Mind you, it didn't look like this when I got it, but I knew I could give it a little makeover.  Sorry I didn't get the before picture, but imagine it with sprigs of green with dark yellow pom-poms on the end, some type of tall leaves sticking up, and ivy with half the leaves off, wrapped around the handle. I pulled out everything that looked bad (all of the above), washed the piece a little, to at least remove some of the grime, and placed the 2 pink flowers in it, tied a piece of twine around the handle, and voila!! I almost didn't buy it because it looked so bad, but I'm so glad I did.  Something as simple as removing the ugly, and adding 2 pink stems, gave it a complete facelift! I don't know what these are called, but it is metal, chippy, and is 4 small pails bound together.  Love this new little treas

Chicken Wire Basket Collection

I've seen on a few blogs where folks have found some really cute items for the home at Tractor Supply Company!  Well, we had one open about 4 miles from my house a couple of weeks ago, and they are having their grand opening celebration this weekend.  We went in to get dog food.  They had the kind our dogs love 50# for $18.00.  We bought 200#. Since we were there anyway, I decided I would look at their home decor items.  I was pleasantly surprised!! They had lots of empty space on the shelves where folks got there before me, but they had two of these chicken wire cloches left.  Cutest little thing! It holds twine, and a little pair of snips to cut off what you need.  I just had to bring one home with me.  I've bought several pieces recently made of chicken wire.  I was happy to add this to my collection. I got this basket lined with burlap at my favorite consignment shop, and filled it with a small arrangement I already had.  Love the colors. The one to the

Easy Burlap Pillow & Chair Makeover

This rocker belonged to my husband's grandmother.  It's rather small, but still fairly sturdy.  We tightened the screws at the joints as best we could.  I took an old scrap of fabric that I've had in my stash for two or three years.  I knew I would find a way to use it.  I had started covering the seat "pre-blogging" days in a blue fabric, but unfortunately do not have pictures of the fabric that was on the seat.  Believe me when I say this chair had seen better days, and was in horrible condition.  I think someone had covered the seat in an old curtain.  At least that's what it looked like to me.  The seat had broken down over the years, but still had some of the straw-like filling.  No foam in this seat!  In order to get the seat in better condition, I placed a small bed pillow over what was left of it, and duct taped it to the seat structure.  This built it up just enough, and made it much more comfortable. You can tell here that the chair is not very
