A Sign of "LOVE"

I decorated the sun room table for Valentine's last week, but was trying to wait a while to show it.  I guess it's close enough now that I can share it with you.  Nothing fancy at all.  It's done on the CHEAP.  Nothing is new accept the 2 tapers.  I already had everything else.  So here it is!  The "LOVE" sign is a Kirkland's find a couple of years ago.  It was brown and not very attractive at all.  So...... know what I did?  I got out the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and gave it a quick once over, waxed it with dark wax, and distressed it a little and now, I "Love" it!!!  It's sitting on my little shabby stool on top of the table.   I purchased the shabby stool and the pink cherub at the same time from Chic or Shabby, a nearby shop.  The arrangement is made from the same flowers I used last year, purchased at the Dollar Tree.    Love the little red box, a consignment find.  The centerpiece sits on a pie...

Here a Chick, There a Chick, Everywhere a Chick-Chick!

I do love me some chickies!  I have all kinds! Roosters, hens, chicks, plates, lamps, figurines, towels, trivets!!!   I was so excited when Sheila decided to have a Heart of the Home party featuring roosters and chickens, so I gathered some of mine together for her party. Aren't these little chickies going for a ride on Mommie's back just so cute?  This is made of wood and I think it came from Ross.  The big white rooster is the base of a wonderful lamp from Sweet Tea Consignment Shop.  This rattan tray was purchased at a consignment shop too.  The small glass chicken is 1/2 of a S/P set from Ross I think. I shared this little chicken trivet a few weeks ago.  I made the matching napkins from a fabric remnant I already had. This little wire chicken was bought at a thrift shop in South GA.  I painted it white and also painted some of the eggs white.  This french picture came from Kirklands. This a...

Cloches Everywhere

In anticipation of the party at Marty's I gathered a few cloches together and here they are!!     She's such a sweetheart for inviting us to her place.  Be sure to come over! My favorite cloche!  Love the cake stand too! The sign in the bird's mouth says "joy".  Little roo under this cloche! A chalk apple hides under this cloche.  It sits on a sweet plate. Another favorite.  The plate, dome, and roses are all from thrift shop in S. GA.  A total of $1.50!  Love this one! Here it sits in the jelly cupboard. I made this little plate pedestal.   Little green bird from Michael's. My sweet little cupid sits under this cloche!   Here it is without the doilies. This cloche covers a candle sitting on my angel pedestal. Here this metal garden shelf is a great cloche when turned upside down!!!  Don't forget the cloche in my header picture! Hope you've enjoyed my presentation ...
