Finding Fabulous

Recent visits to a few favorite shops yielded some fabulous treasures.

Don't you just love this
wonderful, colorful, faded table cloth?  ($6.99).

Seen here on the entry table.
Gorgeous colors!!

I have been wanting a new picture above my loveseat.
This was only $14.99, and perfect for a Spring display.

I kept the shelf I had there, and added some other items to the wall, including these DT rabbits for a nod to Easter.

I hung a basin and decanter set alongside, and filled it with bird nests with eggs, bought at Michael's a couple years ago.

I picked up this small plate for $2.00 at the second shop I visited.  I knew it would look good with the picture.

Final Display

These 2 pillow covers were a total of $12.00, so I bought them for the office.   You can see the recent office makeover  here.

I love the fabric, and though it doesn't have the exact same color as the wall paint, it gives that impression because of the combination of colors.

I've been hitting a bunch of shops in the last week or so, and will share more great finds soon.

Hope you find some great treasures when you go hunting!!

Sharing with these folks:

Thrifty Bookcase Makeover

About a year ago, I was working on a photo gallery area at the lake home. There is an area about 7x7 between the living room, and the hall bath. I bought a really inexpensive ($20.00) bookcase to use there to hold family photos. I hurriedly placed photos on it, and didn't think much about it.   The last time we were at the lake, I was sitting there looking at how badly it looked, wondering what I could do to spruce it up a little.  It had all colors/types of picture frames -red, pink floral, wood, brass, you name it!   I remembered seeing adhesive shelf liner at the Dollar General the day before.  So I made a quick trip back there, and bought one 9 ft. roll for less than $3.00.  I know this is not an original idea and has been done by lots of people, but I wanted to show you anyway.   First, I emptied out all the photos, pulled out the shelves, measured, and cut the paper to fit inside the bookcase.  I also took all the photos out of the frames and w...

Stenciled Burlap Pillow

I just have to share my no sew pillow project.  I had some burlap fabric in my fabric stash, and decided I would use it to cover a pillow.  First, I found an old pillow I no longer use.  I spread the burlap out on the floor and laid my pillow on it so I could cut the fabric big enough to cover it.  I was so intent on the project, I didn't make any pictures of the process. Once the burlap was cut, I folded in the sides about an inch, and glued it down with Tacky Glue, pressing it down several times with my fingers.  I did this all the way around the fabric, and laid it aside to dry over night.  The Tacky Glue dries clear. My next step was to determine how I could lap the fabric over the cushion in an envelope fashion.  I had tried to get my computer to print out a graphic that would show up on the burlap, but printer problems interfered with that plan, so I found the center, and stenciled it with the tree stencil I bought at Michael's. ...
