Using White Decor in My Home

I want to join in the fun at Blissful Whites Wednesday, so I'm going around the house looking at places where I've used the color white.  My home is by no means "all-white", but I do use it alot throughout my home.  I'm on a blue and aqua kick right now, so there's no telling what I might paint next.    This post is picture heavy, so sit back and relax, and enjoy the white items in my home.  Be sure to visit the Blissful Whites Wednesday party for lots of inspiration!

Of course, my mantel, fire surround, and current decor is mostly white.

    I do... luv white around the home. I once had an almost all white home. But when we built this home, I changed form a shabby chic to a Tuscan look. But I found myself adding white 2 years ago... now like you I have white throughout the home.

    Hi Kathy! Oh, yes, I've so enjoyed seeing all of your pretty whites. I love color in my home but so enjoy seeing all of the white homes but I just couldn't live in a totally white house! :) I guess I've got plenty of it around my house too.
    Now I adore your pretty little table and chairs in front of the window.

    Pretty, pretty whites. It's always fun to go on a color"hunt," to see how much you actually use a color or not! You use white beautifully. Jane

    What a beautiful home you have. The white is so elegant. I really love the mantel. Aqua is also a nice color; love it also :)

I love finding tablecloths, runners, napkins, and other linens when I am out thrifting. Whether it be at consignment shops, GW, or yard sales, I will usually snap up a pretty linen if it doesn't have a lot of stains.  I will show you some of my favorites. What's in the Hutch?

Yesterday I awoke in the mood to do some "deep" cleaning.  First on my list was to dust inside the china cabinet in the dining room.  Can you believe how much dust can get into a closed cabinet.  Really, how does that happen?  My cabinet has glass shelves and they were hazy with dust.  This is a rather tedious job because I not only have china inside, I have all kinds of little "pretties" stored there too.  It's one of the first things you see upon entry into our home, so I really should do this more often.  I want show you the before, sufficeth to say, it had been a while since I had tackled this chore.  Here are some photos showing the "after". Blogging Again From My Mountain Cottage, Shadymont

After a much needed rest, I'm back with a new blog name and a few slight changes, like the template, and the content will vary and not always be home decor, though that is my niche, and I will continue to have it frequently.  But I want to use my blog to also give those who may read it a little encouragement into the Goodness of God. Some of the fog from my depression is lifting now and I'm starting to feel better.  I've had a really hard time, personally, for the last seven months, and the divorce still isn't final.  I think it is nearing being final now though, and I hope I will continue to get clarity from this fog. I have a story to tell regarding other matters, but I still am not able to talk  about it quite yet.  But when I say I've been through the fire, or maybe the pits of hell, just believe me.  I now understand the meaning of Never say "Never"!  Things can happen to us when we are vulernable that we think would never  happen.  ...
