Reviving an Old Picture

My sister-in-law gave me this picture of a little chapel a very long time ago.  It is a Home Interior product, and  the year 1987 is stamped on the back, so it has been around for 25 years.

I came across the picture last Saturday when I was shopping the basement and brought it upstairs.  Once upstairs, I decided to give the frame a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

Once I let the paint dry, I simply sanded it with a sanding block but didn't add any wax.  I really do like the frame painted Old White.

Now, where to place it?  First I put it in a corner in the dining room.

We were unable to enjoy it placed in the corner of the dining room, so I moved it into the foyer. Now it is seen when you enter the front door.

I think I found the perfect spot.  Don't you?

  5. I love the frame painted and distressed. I have two home interiors sconces I should paint. They were bought at different times/years and are a tad different. I have thought about painting them several times.

  8. Oh my goodness, I had that picture too but I can't remember if I still have it or not. We've made several moves since I bought it and I don't remember it being in our last home where we lived almost 14 years. Thanks for posting, it brings back memories and I love the the white paint and rustic look. You did a fantastic job!

  14. It looks fantastic....
I haven't tried the AS paint yet. My budget is pretty tight so I pretty much stick with Lowes paints. :))
    This really turned out nice.
