Jelly Cupboard

BEFORE
Today, I decided to tackle a project that I have been wanting to do for a while.  We have the jelly cupboard that belonged to my MIL.  When we were going through her things and moving the items we wanted to bring home with us, hubby let the hand trucks hit the cupboard and broke the glass in one of the doors.  I always photographed it with the doors open so it wasn't noticeable.  But it was always staring at me when I would go into the sun room, so today, I decided to break the glass out of the other door and add chicken wire instead.  It was really easy to do.  I purchased a 10 ft roll of chicken wire at Lowe's for a little over three dollars.  After unrolling the wire a couple of feet, I held it up to the inside of  one of the doors and started stapling it.  Then I just snipped the remainder of the wire off and did the same thing on the other door.  It only took about 10 minutes and I love the way it looks now!  What a change!

  1. I think that the chicken wire looks better than the glass! It's a great piece with wonderful treasures inside.

  5. I love the look of the chicken wire too - but the practical side of me thinks of extra dusting!
