Blue Accents

Have you noticed that using blue in home decor is back in vogue?

 Today, I'm sharing places where I have incorporated the color blue.

 My favorite blue find was the hall tree, but this little vintage table was an equally good bargain at my favorite consignment shop.  It was only $29.




It's a perfect fit for this corner, and faces the front door, so I try to make it look welcoming.



The table holds several items in blue.  I was happy to find the blue/white doily.





My hall tree is often decked out in blue.


I've brought a round, blue braided rug into the family room, and we love it.



The bonus room, my retreat, has quite a bit of blue.

 We favor
blue at the lake house as well.



This sweet blue table holds a TV in a guest room.

The living room suite is blue and white.

I love the pitcher I bought with its blue flowers.

This dark blue tray was a great find.

As I look around, I realize, I have lots of blue in my home.  There are many ways to add a favorite color to your decor by tucking in small touches here and there.

I love finding tablecloths, runners, napkins, and other linens when I am out thrifting. Whether it be at consignment shops, GW, or yard sales, I will usually snap up a pretty linen if it doesn't have a lot of stains.  I will show you some of my favorites. What's in the Hutch?

Yesterday I awoke in the mood to do some "deep" cleaning.  First on my list was to dust inside the china cabinet in the dining room.  Can you believe how much dust can get into a closed cabinet.  Really, how does that happen?  My cabinet has glass shelves and they were hazy with dust.  This is a rather tedious job because I not only have china inside, I have all kinds of little "pretties" stored there too.  It's one of the first things you see upon entry into our home, so I really should do this more often.  I want show you the before, sufficeth to say, it had been a while since I had tackled this chore.  Here are some photos showing the "after". Blogging Again From My Mountain Cottage, Shadymont

After a much needed rest, I'm back with a new blog name and a few slight changes, like the template, and the content will vary and not always be home decor, though that is my niche, and I will continue to have it frequently.  But I want to use my blog to also give those who may read it a little encouragement into the Goodness of God. Some of the fog from my depression is lifting now and I'm starting to feel better.  I've had a really hard time, personally, for the last seven months, and the divorce still isn't final.  I think it is nearing being final now though, and I hope I will continue to get clarity from this fog. I have a story to tell regarding other matters, but I still am not able to talk  about it quite yet.  But when I say I've been through the fire, or maybe the pits of hell, just believe me.  I now understand the meaning of Never say "Never"!  Things can happen to us when we are vulernable that we think would never  happen.  ...
