Little Changes

We returned from the lake house on Saturday, so I worked in the house some yesterday, and today.  Yesterday I dusted everything and today I did the floors changed the sheets, and washed the bath rugs.  I'll clean the bathrooms tomorrow.  As usual, when I clean, I move things around.  So here's the latest.

 One of the plates I hung on Sunday fell during the night and broke, so I moved the newest plate to the bookcase.  I had bought the adhesive disks to hang the plates, but one of them came loose.  So.....there you go.  I'll go back to using the wire hangers, if I can find some.  

I moved the plant philodendron away from the entry way to the corner of the dining room.  It just seemed too crowded the other way.
I sat it on the old apple crate.

My consignment shop chair did sit here, but now it's in the opposite corner. (for now).


I might move it to the living room or office.

I moved this tray and arrangement to the bookcase too.


The top of the bombe table got changed to this.


I added the little fence, leaf plate, and the "vent hose" pumpkin.  


I placed a pumpkin and the burlap bag on the pie safe.

It just NEVER ends here!  My OCD gets worse every day!!
I really need help!!

    You certainly are a homemaker Kathy. What a warm and welcoming home it looks.
    I have never used those stick on plate hangers, and have a couple in a draw but they're bound for the trash now after reading of your disaster. What a shame you've lost a lovely plate - the one you show is so lovely.

    It's only fair we get to move things around all the time if we have to clean around it all, right? I am a habitual rearranger. It's like getting the feeling of something new without buying a thing. I like what you've done with your little changes.

Stenciled Burlap Pillow

I just have to share my no sew pillow project.  I had some burlap fabric in my fabric stash, and decided I would use it to cover a pillow.  First, I found an old pillow I no longer use.  I spread the burlap out on the floor and laid my pillow on it so I could cut the fabric big enough to cover it.  I was so intent on the project, I didn't make any pictures of the process. Once the burlap was cut, I folded in the sides about an inch, and glued it down with Tacky Glue, pressing it down several times with my fingers.  I did this all the way around the fabric, and laid it aside to dry over night.  The Tacky Glue dries clear. My next step was to determine how I could lap the fabric over the cushion in an envelope fashion.  I had tried to get my computer to print out a graphic that would show up on the burlap, but printer problems interfered with that plan, so I found the center, and stenciled it with the tree stencil I bought at Michael's. ...

Bar Stools Makeover

I'm still receiving therapy by keeping my hands busy, plus today I ran quite a few errands.  It's been a crying day for me today.  Just so much to worry about.  It seems like sometimes everything is just messed up, and there's nothing we can do to fix any of it.   Night before last, I painted the bar stools.  I've had them since 2000, and they were nice, but I was just in the mood to paint them!!  The form of the stools had a textured bronze color, the seats were beige with the fleur de lis design, and the wood across the back was brown.  Well, needless to say, they got their own coat of chalk paint in white, the seats covered in blue and white, and the boards across the back are blue.  I have the fabric to make matching placemats and napkins, but today was not the day to try to sew, for me.  I'm just too nervous.  In fact, I didn't do anything creative today except switch out the curtains in the powder room that I only made and p...
