There's just something about sitting on the front porch. After working outside for several hours, it's great to have a spot to sit for a spell and relax, and enjoy nature. Or at least we think so. Our porches get lots of use. The front porch is L-shaped, stretching from the front door, around the corner of the house, and half way down the side where there is always a breeze.
We love sitting on the front porch in the evenings, and on the weekends after we finish with our yard work.
As always ladies, thank you for hosting!

My $10 table from consignment. Spray painted this color last year.
Extra chair for visitors.
The rockers are waiting for a second coat of paint. They were white, but it's impossible to keep the mildew from getting on them in the winter, so I have put one coat of flat black on, and will next put on a coat of glossy black. Don't look too closely, you'll see all the places I missed.
The white french door goes into the dining room. These steps are curved so they work for both doors.
Around the corner on the other side of the porch is a chippy old glider. I whipped up this cushion cover last Saturday from a remnant I found in my stash.
Hubby suggested painting the glider, but I like the rust and chippiness for now. Maybe later.....maybe not. :)
These steps go into the office area.
We don't use them, so I'm thinking about planting some flowers in pots and sitting them on the steps.
First though, we have to pressure wash everything. You can see that the dog has been napping on the porch.
Come and sit with us. We'll pour something cool to drink and sit for a while and chat, and enjoy God's goodness!

As always ladies, thank you for hosting!
Your porch looks like a welcoming place to sit and relax. The rockers are great. That is where I would want to sit and rock away the problems of the day. Thanks for coming to the party. I always enjoy what you have to share.--Shannon

ReplyDeleteI love your front porch. Thank you for sharing yours with us. I've been looking for new ideas.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like porch sitting! It's the most relaxing thing I know sitting out listening to the birds and maybe looking at a magazine. I like your idea for plants on the steps!
ReplyDeleteI would feel quite welcome on your delightful porch. I do enjoy going outside to rest and relax.
ReplyDeleteYour front porch is very welcoming, I could see myself rocking on those chairs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely porch! Wish I lived close by, I'd come and plop down in one of those comfy looking rockers and drink peach tea with you!
