Today I'm sharing my mantel decorated for Spring, as well as several other areas that I've changed. All these changes were possible without spending a penny, which I love, love, love!
This is what I had on the mantel for about the last 2 months. I like this, but wanted to lighten it up for Spring.
I removed the candle sticks and platter from the mantel to the dining room, here.
I had the pitcher already, I believe from Good Will, so I moved it to the cabinet. OK, the candlesticks, etc., have a new spot, but what can I use on the mantel?
I originally matted this print with a green mat. Here, I have just flipped the green mat over and now have a white mat for the print. (BTW, the print was free). The frame and mat (with another print), were a gift a number of years ago.
Does anyone know what these pans are called, and what their original use was?
I'm using mine for a tray in my breakfast nook centerpiece.

Here is the same print and mat, turned to the green side.
I also shopped the basement and found quite a number of items I will show you in the next few posts. I do want to share this one today though. I'm not sure where this came from, maybe the hubs had it before we married. :)
I hope you've enjoyed shopping the house with me. Give it a try. It's lots of fun!!

Your mantle looks lovely. I also like the idea of using the old pan as a tray. How cute that looks.

Oh how have such fun things to use and your have changed them around so they look totally different. Gorgeous vignette. Swapping the mat is genius. Never thought of that one. I don't know what the pan was for, but what a great tray it makes. Thanks also for linking to TTT. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeleteGreat changes Kathy, what a simple but effective way of getting a new look by changing the matt around :o) The tray is very sweet, but no idea what it's original use was.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun Sunday!

Love your pretty mantel and all your finds. I love that pan and think I've seen one before but don't have a clue as to what it's used for. I love what you've done with it.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I am going to have some fun tomorrow, shopping my house as well as using the things I bought today!! I was too tired to do anything today. Your changes are beautiful. I love the candle sticks.
ReplyDeleteI love to change things up around my house. And yes, I often shop my house too. It's fun to use things in different rooms and different ways. As you get older you don't really need a lot of MORE STUFF. You just need to play with what you've got!! Love the post.
ReplyDeleteHave no clue about the tray....but love what you did with it!!! And for FREE...gotta love that!!! You had some fun too.....hugs...cleo
ReplyDeleteI think it is a great idea to move some things around the house!!! i sure looks very pretty!!

Love the way you pulled everything together.....and especially that you did it by "shopping your house!" THAT is the best way to save!
ReplyDeleteWell done.
I love to shop the house, too! It's amazing how things looks so different in a new spot.
ReplyDeleteOh I adore your cheery red vignette!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll stop by my blog. I am hosting a giveaway for a $50 Kirklands gift card.
Everything looks so wonderful. You have a beautiful home and I love your mantel...the picture is lovely! Hope you will visit Magnolia Cottage. Have a wonderful evening.

That white mat really makes the tulips pop out in that picture. I know it's the backside of the green mat, but I'd probably keep it that way all the time to let the pretty flowers stand out more. I love seeing people use what they already have instead of buying new all the time. I don't know what that pan was for, but I like the vignette you made with your pretty rooster plate.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up to the Your Cozy Home Party this week!
I love the rooster and tulip picture!
