Fall Tour Dining Room, Sun Room and Breakfast Room

I'm back to welcome you to tour the dining, breakfast, and sun rooms.
Lots of photos.
 Please relax and enjoy!
Dining Room
I decided to use the bird fabric for a runner rather than a wall hanging.  Here it grounds the tiered stand laden with autumn pumpkins, stems, and corn.

This arrangement sits on a tall hand made/painted stool.  The pottery depicts southwestern scenes.  The colors blend in with the other fall decor.

The side table is decked out for fall.

Fall on the bookcase.

Breakfast Room
Apothecary jar filled with ceramic pumpkins.

Mr. Rooster looks proud in his fall colors.

 More autumn color.

Here is the arrangement for the breakfast table.
I got this dough bowl on Ebay.  I was a little disappointed in the size of it , but it's good for decorating.

Sun Room

I removed the sea shells and turquoise items from the wire basket, and added acorns purchased at Kirkland's last year.  The wire pumpkins are place card holders.  The sun is casting shadows on the table this morning.

Faux acorns also fill this Ball jar.

Hope you have enjoyed sharing the fall decor at Shadymont.

  4. I enjoyed the tour of your fall decor. I really like the way you decorated the tiered stand. I recently found one at a thrift store that would be perfect to use as a centerpiece decorated as you did. Thanks for the idea!

  5. Hi Kathy, you have done a beautiful job decorating for fall. Everything looks pretty but the arrangement with the southwestern designs is my favorite thing. It is really pretty. You have very cute things used in a very decorative manner.-----

Blogging Again From My Mountain Cottage, Shadymont

After a much needed rest, I'm back with a new blog name and a few slight changes, like the template, and the content will vary and not always be home decor, though that is my niche, and I will continue to have it frequently.  But I want to use my blog to also give those who may read it a little encouragement into the Goodness of God. Some of the fog from my depression is lifting now and I'm starting to feel better.  I've had a really hard time, personally, for the last seven months, and the divorce still isn't final.  I think it is nearing being final now though, and I hope I will continue to get clarity from this fog. I have a story to tell regarding other matters, but I still am not able to talk  about it quite yet.  But when I say I've been through the fire, or maybe the pits of hell, just believe me.  I now understand the meaning of Never say "Never"!  Things can happen to us when we are vulernable that we think would never  happen.  ...

Stenciled Burlap Pillow

I just have to share my no sew pillow project.  I had some burlap fabric in my fabric stash, and decided I would use it to cover a pillow.  First, I found an old pillow I no longer use.  I spread the burlap out on the floor and laid my pillow on it so I could cut the fabric big enough to cover it.  I was so intent on the project, I didn't make any pictures of the process. Once the burlap was cut, I folded in the sides about an inch, and glued it down with Tacky Glue, pressing it down several times with my fingers.  I did this all the way around the fabric, and laid it aside to dry over night.  The Tacky Glue dries clear. My next step was to determine how I could lap the fabric over the cushion in an envelope fashion.  I had tried to get my computer to print out a graphic that would show up on the burlap, but printer problems interfered with that plan, so I found the center, and stenciled it with the tree stencil I bought at Michael's. ...

Bar Stools Makeover

I'm still receiving therapy by keeping my hands busy, plus today I ran quite a few errands.  It's been a crying day for me today.  Just so much to worry about.  It seems like sometimes everything is just messed up, and there's nothing we can do to fix any of it.   Night before last, I painted the bar stools.  I've had them since 2000, and they were nice, but I was just in the mood to paint them!!  The form of the stools had a textured bronze color, the seats were beige with the fleur de lis design, and the wood across the back was brown.  Well, needless to say, they got their own coat of chalk paint in white, the seats covered in blue and white, and the boards across the back are blue.  I have the fabric to make matching placemats and napkins, but today was not the day to try to sew, for me.  I'm just too nervous.  In fact, I didn't do anything creative today except switch out the curtains in the powder room that I only made and p...
