Decorating the Workplace for Fall

I will try again today to post the blog showing my office at work.  I decided since we spend most of our waking hours at the workplace, we may as well make it as pleasant as we can.  This called for a quick run to Dollar Tree. I've had this urn for a long time.  I filled it with paper then added silk leaves and a pumpkin from DT and tied a ribbon around it.  So simple yet festive. Again, ribbon, hurricane, leaves, filler, everything purchased at Dollar Tree.  This is sitting on an end table in my office. I placed an autumn leaves garland in the window sill and added various color ceramic pumpkins. I bought this little flower pot a few years ago from Dollar General.  The gourds are from DT. This is on the corner of my desk.  The swing arm lamp was from a consignment store ($5.00), the picture frame from the same store, and the pot of geraniums was bought recently at Good Will for about $4.00. So, for very little money, I was able to decorat...

Bringing fall into the sun room

It's a rainy night in Georgia.  :) This afternoon I had to go to DG to get some batteries and while I was in there, I naturally looked through their "fall decor items".  They had some really cute pumpkins, banners, etc.  So I picked up a few things for the sunroom. You may remember that I found a full set of dishes last week at a consignment shop for $12.95.  I decided to set the table in the sunroom with it and then added some fall items also. I hope everyone has a great week!!  This is how the sunroom table looked before fall decor was added.  Fine, but not seasonal. I got most of these items at Dollar General for around $2 each. I love the texture of the pumpkins made from twigs.   This shot shows some of the dishware and the S/P shakers with the cup and saucer added to the setting.  I love the fruit motif on the dishwear.  The colors blend well with the fall decor.  The little wire pumpkins in the above sho...

Pretty in Pink

Today I am sharing several photos featuring the color pink.   I hope you enjoy!  Have a great weekend!  Pitcher from Ross, depression glass from MIL. A little angel, gift from former boss.  The handkerchiefs were my Mother's.  This pink serving piece was given to me by my MIL.  I just love it.  From MIL.  Also from MIL.  My pink angels.  Teacups and hankies.  The hankies were my Mother's.  teacup with hydrangea  This teacup reminds me of an English tea party.  This is an Avon Breastcare awareness mug.  Pretty pink florals  Found the strawberry dish at a consignment shop.  Love this display.  Pencil Angels from former boss.  Trinket box and hankies in depression bowl.  The little angel in the picture is my Granddaughter Rheagan. Thrifty Finds

Oh my goodness,  I found a new consignment shop that I can go to on my lunch hour at work.  It's just the cutest shop, run by an interior designer.  The shop is called "Sweet Tea".  I came away with some great thrifty treasures.  I've been busy tonight with family things and have not had a chance to "set" these up, but wanted to give you a peek anyway.  I'll do a better job using these soon and show them again. Here is a 3 tiered plate stand that I got for $4.95. The little plates on it were 55 cents each.  I will find a solid one to match and take a new picture.  I also might spray paint the stand with ORB. close-up of the 55 cents plates. This pretty floral arrangement was only $3.95.  The bucket it is in is seafoam green.  Goes great in my sun room. The best deal of all though, was a full set of dishware, 4 place setting including the salt and pepper shakers, and tea glasses, cups/saucers, dinner plates, salad plates.... th...

Autumn in the breakfast area

Just sharing shots of fall decorations in the breakfast nook.  We have a small round oak table in the breakfast nook.  Here it is with some orangey goodies!! Linking to Marty at http://astrollthrulife.blogspot.com/ for Table Top Tuesday. Enjoy!! The runner is from WM.  I've had it for several years.  It depicts a scene of people harvesting.  It includes pumpkins, acorns, leaves, etc.  It reverses to solid green, so I can use it at Christmas also. Dinner plate is a Gibson also from WM, $1.50 each.  The salad plates are a recent Ross purchase at 4/$5.99. Candles were on clearance at Target, garland from DT at $1.00 This is the top of my grandmother's pie safe where I have a rooster vignette.  I'll feature the pie safe in a later post. This is a small cabinet where I store candles and candle holders.

Change is good!

I recently changed my dining room table for autumn.  I like it simple like in the first picture, but also like the added color. I bought the runner at the consignment store near my office.  In the fall picture below, I used a rust colored table cloth I found on clearance at WM and simply flipped this runner over to the brown side for this setting.  I love it when runners are reversable.  The print side would look pretty for fall as well. The burgundy napkin and plaid placemat under the cloche was a Home Goods find, both  and a wooden napkin ring, for 70 cents!! Can't beat that price.  Only problem, this was the only one I could find.  :( I am linking to Susie at Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday.

A Beautiful Autumn Day

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Hubby and I went grocery shopping, came back and had a nap, and now he's about to grill us a steak.  I'll add the baked potato and salad and will whip up a dessert and we'll be set.  It's a lovely fall day today.  There has been a cool breeze blowing all day.  We've enjoyed just sitting on the front porch. I would like to share the things I found on my lunch hour yesterday at a neat shop near my job called Chic or Shabby.  I'll admit that I gave a little more for the cloche than I wanted to, but it just kept calling my name. I just love it.  The little rooster plate fits right in with my 'changed' vignette. :)  I just adore the yellow bird.  It a larger size and so nice.  Last but not least, the beaded candle ring was the best price of all, at 99 cents.  I walked out of there a little lighter in the pocket, but so so happy with my finds!  Blessings, Kathy P.S.  I'...
