Some Great Good Will Decor Items

After tomorrow, we can take down our Valentine's Day decor, and put something else.  I'm not sure what I will use.  I think Easter is April 1st, so I'll wait a little longer to put out the Easter decor.  Gotta get busy and decide what I'll do for the time til then. Tuesday's are Sr. Discount days at our GW, so I went and found such awesome things for a total of $20.00!! All these items, a windsor chair, metal topiary vase, 2 books, an artificial plant, like new, very clean, a small aqua lantern, a small chicken picture, a pencil etching of Christ holding a lamb, and a tall picture of hydrangeas. Here's where I'm using them.  The turquoise chair went in my bedroom at the desk.  Also in my room, on the faux mantle for the heater.  I hung the hydrangea picture above the 'mantle' near the flowers.  I found this the other day.  Are these called tussie mussie's?  Of course I had to ge...

Valentine's Day Decor

I decided to do a little valentine's decorating today, mostly in the living and dining room. The mantel was easy, I only added a few items and a banner to the mirror.  Nothing is new except the flowers on the hearth above. Everything else is thrifted.  I hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day!! A Chair for My Bedroom, and Good Will Finds

I have found several nice things lately, some from Good Will and some from consignment, and I actually bought a NEW chair for my bedroom. It's more blue than it shows in the photos.  I found it at Home Goods for $79.     This piece is from consignment shop.  I also bought an oval lampshade from there.  Tablecloth from Good Will along with about 5 beige towels. Love this rooster, recent GW find. Make a Mantel for a Small Heater

This week as I was in Good Will I found a tall, narrow skinny table.  It had seen better days, but was sturdy and around $8.00.  I used white chalk paint to paint it. Then at a consignment shop I found a set of tall shutters painted a dull pink. Even before that, I had bought a Duraflame heater that has the logs and looks like a small fireplace. I used all these pieces and this is the result. The outside of the heater doesn't get hot, and I wouldn't run it without being in the room. The shutters were such a perfect fit, they snapped between the legs. No screws, or nails anywhere!! I found these 4 plates to hang above the "mantel".  If you look closely you can see the aqua edge. I want a full size door to go behind this and hope I find one soon. So that's one way of making a mantel for a small heater.  Hope you have a lovely weekend!!
