Vintage Treasures

Look at this sweet scarf.  I'm not sure who made it, but it belonged to my MIL.  I think she may have crocheted the trim.  Isn't it delicate?       I've started a new collection of aqua canning jars.  I now have three, so it qualifies as a collection.  I found one this week at good will for $1.91 minus 25% for senior day.  :) It's missing the lid, but an antique store I visit has some lids so I hope to replace the missing ones.  This electrical regulator belonged to my FIL.  He was an electrician for the city where he lived.  I think this magnifying glass looks vintage.  My family's old vintage well bucket.   My mom's vintage pie cupboard. This plate is vintage, 1930's.  I found it for fifty cents at a thrift shop. Hope your week-end is the best.  Linking up with Debra at Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday . Thanks for hosting Debra!

Around the House

I'm joining in the White Wednesday party at Faded Charm .   I'm becoming more and more fond of using white in my decor.  Here are a few photos sharing my growing love of white.  Enjoy! Love this little bench. This candle stick was once gold.  White spray paint fixed that.  I like the sheet music wrapped around the candle and tied with jute string.  This is in a corner beside the tub.  These sconces and cupids are in the powder room.  Can't forget my white rooster lamp and this sweet hen with her babies.  They reside in the breakfast nook.  This little chickie lives at the lake house.  I hope you have enjoyed your visit!  Come back soon!

Master Suite

I don't think I've ever shared the master suite with you, so here it is. Warning:  There are lots of pictures. View from door way. Found the runner at Kirkland's.  It's a perfect match for the comforter. Bedding: Wal Mart; Pillow and  Art, Kirkland's. Wooden plaque: Kirkland's Chair: Consign and Design Consignment Shop several years ago. Love this lamp. Runner on top of armoire, consignment shop. Now to the Master Bath. Love my soaker tub! Saw this idea for towels on RMS. I hope you enjoyed your tour! I'm linking to: Show Off Your Cottage Monday at House in the Roses   Masterpiece Monday at Boogieboard Cottage

Sharing Thrifty Finds

A co-worker and I went to my favorite consignment shop the other day at lunch.   Of course, I had to get a little something.  You know how it goes.    This little "chicken" trivet came home with me .  It was only $4.00.  I loved it's bold colors. I already had the yellow ware bowl.  It belonged to my Mom.  She used to make the best cobblers in it.   I couldn't pass up this wire (rusty) basket.  Its shape looks beachy to me and I will find lots of uses for it. .  I tied a piece of jute string around it.  Then used it in my new vignette in the sunroom. I like the way it looks with these turquoise items.   Can't wait to see what you've found recently.   Be sure to stop by Rhoda's party and share them.  I am.

Summer-time Sunday at Shadymont

Welcome to Sunday at Shadymont. Please enjoy some peaceful vignettes. I printed off Hebrews 11:1 and cut to fit this box.  It has the word "Spring" painte d on it and I wanted to be able to use it longer.   One of my favorite verses. Magnifying glass and letter opener with crystal handles.  Belonged to my MIL.  Photo in the background is my husband and me on our wedding day in 2005. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 May God Bless You!! Old Apple Crate

The property where we live was once part of a huge apple orchard.  However, we didn't find this old crate on this property.  My late husband was cleaning out an old warehouse that had formerly belonged to the person who owned the orchard and found this old crate.  It has been in a storage room inside the garage for at least 10 years.  I decided yesterday to bring it out.  Right now it serves as an end table on the screened porch.   Miller Apple Orchards, Cornelia GA Isn't it neat??? Since I'm using it for an end table, I am linking to Tabletop Tuesday at Marty's.  Be sure to drop by!

The Red, White, and Blue

I was shopping the basement for something to make a wreath for the front door and ran across this old straw hat. It had been given to us at a community event several years ago.  Spray painted it red, added a ribbon I already had.  So now I have a patriotic item on my front door. I continued to shop the basement and came across these hydrangeas. I remembered I had a tall red metal vase that I bought a long time ago at Micheal's, so I put the hydrangeas in that, added a flag, and now my front porch is ready for July 4th. Cost:  Zero, Zilch!! Couldn't forget to add some red white and blue to the screened porch. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!! I'm linking up to Thrifty Thursday at Bloggeritaville.  Come by and see what's going on in the ville!
