My decorating style tends to be more traditional, scattered with little touches of romantic style.  I am always attracted to items that have roses.  Nothing says romantic style like roses, lace, and pastels.  Come with me as I show you how I have used these in our home.    The roses on this platter are so delicate.   I love using old keys in decor.     More roses. Lovely crocheted lace tablecloth. Lace, roses, and old sewing drawers.  Cloches, candles and birds make an interesting vignette. Lace added to old bottles along with old jewelry. Old wooden boxes add a rustic touch. Live flowers can lighten up any space.   This urn is embossed with roses. Love the addition of old clocks to a dresser top vignette. Have you noticed the altered books people are making?  I had been seeing them on Pinterest, and wondered what the deal was.  I watched a couple of YouTube videos about them and decided to try to make one.  They are very simple.  You can use all kinds of items to make them.  I bought some crafting items from the Dollar Tree and got busy.   How to: Find an old hard back book, preferably with the pages sewn in rather than glued. Count 20 or so pages, and glue them together, or tape them so that they become one thick page. Here is a gift bag I bought. (same design on back) I cut the bird from the bag, and used mod podge to attach to the front of the book.  Mod podge to cover of book and back of picture, then mod podge over the entire front of book. Next I reinforced the spine of the book with glossy aqua vinyl tape I had bought from the dollar bins at Target recently. At this point I still didn't have a "topic" for my book...

My daughter had a conference in Savannah (GA) last week, so she decided to make it a mini-vacation, and invited me to go with her to help take care of Rheagan.  We left on Wednesday afternoon, and came back Sunday.  I hate to say it, but this was my first visit to Savannah.  I loved it!!   This was my little partner, and we had a blast.  She is so precious! Mom and Rheagan We stayed at the Marriott Riverfront.  This building was originally built to house the athletes competing in the rowing events  there in the 1996 Olympics which were held in Atlanta (and surrounding areas). Great hotel! On Saturday morning, we went on a carriage tour of the Historical section of Savannah!  What a treat!! Pepper was our horse's name, and our tour guide, Kristen was delightful!
