A Sprinkle of Pink

I am linking to Beverly's party today.  Come by and join in the fun.  Thank's Beverly for inviting us! Sharing a little pink sprinkled throughout my home. These items make me think of Spring.

New Year

I'm off to a slow start since the holidays.  I just haven't gotten my creative juices flowing yet.  I did 'lighten up' the dining room table, but that's about all I've done. I'm not satisfied with the table, so I hope I'm in the mood to change it this weekend, but here is what I've done for now. I've used dishware with a gray border with pink tulips.  The runner on top of the drop cloth table cloth is four sheets of scrapping paper purchased on clearance at Michael's for 49cents per sheet. The centerpiece is a white pitcher I got at Ross for a few dollars, the flowers I already had. I topped the white K-Mart pedastal with a platter. Of course you recognize the bloggy hurricanes (dollar tree).  I made the napkins and the napkin rings are hammered metal found at Wal Mart.  Silverware is old mix-matched that I had on hand. My Best Thrifty Finds of 2010

I've had great luck with thrifting this year.  Some of my items are so nice.  I'm joining Linda at her Junkin' Finds Party .  Come on over to her party!  The more, the merrier!  Thanks Linda for hosting!! I am sharing some of my favorites with you.  I won't bore you with all the details.  The most I paid for anything was $10.00 (rooster and green lidded casserole dish).  Most items were from $1.00 or less to $4 or $5.00.  It's hard to pick a single favorite, but I think the little Royal Daulton plate (near the bottom of my blog) rates in the top 2 or 3.  I gave fifty cents for it at a thrift shop, and have seen them on e-bay for as much as thirty to forty dollars.  They were made in 1930.  Now if I can find more of these I'll be ecstatic. Wishing all of you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!  Happy Thrifting!!
